Deputy Prime Minister visits FLR Apprenticeship Event

YOU’RE HIRED!

FLR Group was delighted to attend an Apprenticeship Event at Solihull College on Thursday 14 May, held in conjunction with Solihull Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Virgin Media.

The guest list included Nick Clegg MP (Deputy Prime Minister), the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, Vince Cable MP, as well as business leaders from a number of successful Solihull based companies.

The key message being conveyed was that taking on an apprentice could make an organisation more effective, competitive and productive. With 68% of our current operatives having been down the apprenticeship route, this was an initiative we were more than happy to support.

We were asked to provide a brief case study on the benefits of apprenticeships to our organisation and you can view the presentation on SlideShare.

What made this event different? It was refreshing to attend an event aimed at businesses that were interested in taking on apprentices, as well as students and parents looking at future employment options.

The event was a great success and was attended by Faith Walker (Commercial Director), David Viner (General Manager) and Jonathan Ingram (Graphic Designer & New Media Developer).

Apprenticeships are the lifeblood of our company and we were proud to be able to showcase this in front of such a distinguished audience.
